Guardianship & Services

GUARDIANSHIP & SERVICES

Language Learning International provides a dedicated guardian to each international student taking during their academic placement. This is an LLI representative who will help the student settle in and is available in case of emergencies 24 hours a day if needed. The guardianship services are provided to ensure support and security for all of our students, aiding in all respects to school and host family life.

We take this responsibility very seriously and our guardians are highly experienced in dealing with students and are known by all our participating schools.

WHAT DOES A GUARDIAN DO?

The guardians role is primarily to support and assist the student as they settle into their academic programme in Ireland. They monitor the student’s progress academically, attend parent-teacher meetings, and liaise directly with the school and host family to ensure the student is succeeding with their placement. The guardian’s primary concern is the safety and happiness of the student and their first and foremost concern is the student is well-supported and taken care of.

WHY CHOOSE IRELAND?

Ireland, also referred to as the “Emerald Isle” or “The Land of Saints and Scholars”, has in recent years become the most popular destination in Europe for international students to attend academic programmes and improve their English fluency. Ireland has been long-established as a country of distinction in terms of education, culture, and history, being internationally recognised for its cultural heritage that continues to this day.

In Ireland, we are globally renowned for our hospitality; Big 7 Travel have voted Dublin and Cork as some of the friendliest cities in the world, and Lonely Planet voted Ireland the world’s friendliest country. Irish people love to talk and conversation is a national pastime, making it the ideal location for foreign students to make new friends through English and develop confidence with the language.

Furthermore, education costs are comparably lower in Ireland than in other English-speaking countries, and our education system is known to be one of the best in the world.. Over 48 per cent of Irish 25-34 year olds hold university level qualifications (the highest rate in Europe) and 95 per cent of Irish people graduate from secondary education (also the highest in Europe!) Additionally, the Leaving Certificate diploma received upon completion of secondary school is internationally accepted for admission to universities around the world.
